Because quiet time doesn’t have to look the same every day.
Let’s be honest—spending time with God can sometimes feel routine. But it doesn’t have to. If we believe God wants to be part of every area of our lives, then why not make connecting with Him fun, creative, and personal?
This list is here to help you shake things up and connect with God in new, life-giving ways.
QUIET TIME
Stillness is rare these days. With all the noise, distractions, and non-stop content, slowing down is something we actually have to fight for. But it’s in the stillness where we hear God’s voice, where peace settles in, where fresh ideas are born.
Here are a few quiet-time ideas to help you tune in and truly pause:
Take a few minutes throughout your day to just be still—no phone, no music, just silence.
Re-read/study your sermon notes (if you’ve never taken notes in church, this is your sign to start) and try to study more in depth what you learned in church.
Read one Psalm or Proverb a day.
Memorize 3–5 scriptures using index cards keep them on your mirror, car dash, or phone screen.
Take a full Sabbath day to unplug, rest, and enjoy God and your people.
Use Driving time to talk to God or use it to be silent
Set a timer every hour as a reminder to pause, breathe, and reconnect.
MOVEMENT + GOD
Spending time with God doesn’t always require sitting still. Some of the most sacred moments happen while we’re moving. Prayer walks have become one of my favorite ways to connect with God—body, mind, and spirit.
Go on a prayer walk—pray for friends, family, or just talk with God as you go.
Blast your favorite worship playlist and sing (or dance!) your heart out.
11. Take a hike and soak in God’s creation—be present, notice, thank Him
Listen to scripture audio or Christian podcasts during your
Community + Fellowship
Faith was never meant to be a solo journey. God designed us for connection real, life-giving relationships that challenge, heal, and encourage us.
Here are ways to experience God through people:
Serve at your church or volunteer at a local nonprofit—bring light where you are.
Do a random act of kindness—no reason, no credit needed.
Write a card to someone who’s grieving or struggling—and pray over it before sending.
Ask God, “Who can I serve today?” and act on it right away.
Creative Connection
God is the ultimate Creator—and when we create, we reflect Him. Whether you’re painting, journaling, or building something with your hands, creativity can be a powerful way to commune with God.
Get creative with your time with Him:
Turn on worship music and paint, sketch, or put together a puzzle.
Create a family prayer board with requests + answered prayers
Have a picnic with God—Bible, journal, music, snacks.
Share something He’s teaching you on IG, TikTok, or your blog
Listen to a podcast or sermon that stretches your perspective and grows your faith.
Everyday Practices
God doesn’t just want the highlight reel—He wants the everyday, ordinary moments, too. Invite Him in. He delights in being part of your daily life.
Here’s how to keep Him close all day long:
Spending time with God doesn’t have to be complicated or perfect. It just has to be real. The more we invite Him in—into the quiet, the chaos, the creating, and the cleaning the more we’ll notice He’s been there all along.
Pray for someone while folding laundry, washing dishes, or vacuuming.
Invite Him into your to-do list—pray before each task, even the small ones.
Reach for your Bible or prayer before social media or emails.
(BONUS) Start and end your day with a simple: “Good morning, God.” “Goodnight, Lord.
